Bagu Sushi in Minneapolis

Purchased the Groupon and used it for takeout. Enjoyed fresh spring rolls, mango sticky rice, rainbow roll, sunrise roll, and spicy tuna roll. All scrumptious. Their wasabi is amazing! They adjusted ingredients for my GF diet as well. Highly recommend!

Good food, but it took a long time

As usual this is our go to Sushi & Thai restaurant, although the commute is about 20 miles or so. But for us it’s worth it. The only concern this time was the Tuna Tataki was sliced a little bit thicker than usual and we prefer the older way of sliced thinner. The cream cheese puffs which are one of my many favorites were as usual “perfect”. Also, you can’t go wrong with any of the vast selection of rolls. It does get a bit busy so I encourage you to make reservations if possible to avoid waiting/standing for a table to become available as it is not a big restaurant- but cozy.

Some of the most delicious food I have eaten(More so than most other food places I have reviewed)Prices are well within the range of reason.All the staff seemed genuinely positive, upbeat, and friendly.Close seating, if you don't like random strangers sitting close to you......maybe pass on this place or try and visit during very slow times. They offer outside seating which is a pleasant option.It gets 5 stars from me. ... ... If I was I composing this review on a day of frustrated mood, it would get 4. But the food is so tasty I can't justify only 4 stars!

Excellent sushi made and served by a great staff!

Has been there numerous times over many years. Food there is never disappointing and attentive service.

Great neighborhood sushi spot. Delicious and high quality specials. Pretty presentations. Blue fin tuna sashimi and hot mussels were delish! Rating 4 stars because it can be pretty quiet, even during busy hours, so not always the best place to go for a fun night out.

Their rolls are hands-down the best rolls in town. They are so good I find myself never needing to dip them in soy sauce or add flavor ever. I have yet to have something off of their varied menu that I don’t like. They are super nice too!

Sushi are awesome. Food service are awesome. I just loved it. Great place to dine out.

Sushi was good, but the service was slow. I would give this place another chance because of the food quality. I will update the review after my next visit.

Probably some of the best pad Thai around! Also prices are very reasonable. Highly recommend!

Love bagu for a nice weekend dinner. Small place so calling ahead helps! Never enough room to wait around for your table.

Love this place. Service was very attentive and friendly. Ramen was so flavorful, they were able to accommodate food allergies. My party loved the sushi as well. Parking not the greatest around here.

Best service! Our waitress was amazing and she was very sweet and welcoming. Her knowledge on all the food items and introduction to the special was great. The place is small, so I highly recommend reserving a table in advance. The food was great and presentation was as well. Prices were reasonable. Definitely visiting this place again!

Great good!

Amazing back patio. Very cozy and intimate. Delicious plum wine by the glass. Great about accommodating my food allergies and leaving out a garnish or ingredient to make my visit go nicer. I think no matter which area you sit in, it's a pleasant experience. Plus the plates and glasses are all really pretty and make eating off them super aesthetically appeasing.

Went here with a groupon- sushi was very disappointing. Cucumbers in the catipillar roll we're old, the French kiss roll did not taste good at all. Edamame was dry and was not worth the $6 at all. The house ramen was alright. Noodles tasted like they were from an instant noodles bag. Soup was alright. Pork in it was good though. Wouldn't recommend.

Exceptionally tasty and great covid precautions for carry out. Highly recommend — pork belly green curry was particularly great.

The food here is on point and the service is exceptional. Bagu is one of our favorite restaurants. I highly recommend. Everything on the menu is a must try, their fried wings and their sauce that comes with it...BOMB.

I've had two orders of sushi since the quarantine began. This easily blew kiku bistro out of the water. I got the sushi platter with choice of spicy salmon roll. The salmon roll I think is what really took me by suprise. Full sliced salmon,avocado, and sauce that had some kick. Most places give you a sub par comparison. Thank you BaGu. I will be visiting upon reopening 1000 percent!

Fantastic service! Food was amazing and presentation was wonderful. It was a unique dining atmosphere in a fun downtown area. Would definitely go back again!

The sushi was delicious! The rolls were very good sized and the fried rice was awesome with huge pieces of fresh vegetables. We'll definitely be back!

Had a great meal here! We got a large sushi roll and the pad thai which gave the two of us a great meal with lots of flavors. Would recommend!

I wish I could rate this higher because the food is great. Every time I call to place an order wait times exceed 90 minutes, even minutes after they open. It’s ridiculously unacceptable.

The food is constantly well prepared and yummy, staff members hands over great customer service. I liked how neat it is and atmosphere. I highly recommend this place.

This spot sure knows how to take care of their customers. Always with a welcoming attitude. The food is affordably priced, constantly delightful and clean.

Stopped in for happy hour- prices were really fair for the portions. Food was delicious! I'm very picky when it comes to sushi and how they are rolled. The chefs here did great; not one roll fell apart! Egg rolls were nice and crispy. The gyoza was perfectly cooked. We even got a small miso soup and bowl of rice for our 2 yr old, which was super helpful and kept her preoccupied with the coloring book/crayons that our server happily provided. Will definitely stop by again and sit in the back patio area that is beautiful and fenced in!

Love this place. Who gets to have a chic yet kid-friendly neighborhood combination-sushi-Thai restaurant?? Add to that their generous weekday drinks-and-sushi happy hour menu from 5-6:30pm and you've got... The best thing ever.

Great food. Fresh fish cuts and chopstick licking good rolls. Have yet to try the Thai food. Will have to come back.

Ok food, was frustrated as sign outside clearly shows a Friday happy hour, was told inside by wait staff that there was none on Fridays. Also my friends vegetarian dish had beef chunks in bottom. Misu soup was great.

One of the best in the city. Great place for a date night or to bring the whole family.

Kind of a small place, but the service was friendly and the pad thai was very good. The interior could use some fresh paint and touch up, but other than that, I would definitely go back again.

Sushi is top notch. The service was excellent. A place you would definitely want to come back and get the whole menu.
